Risk Disclosure
What can go wrong, stated plainly.
The short version
Trading digital assets carries risk, and automation does not remove it. You can lose money you deposit. Do not fund an account with money you cannot afford to have tied up or to lose.
Market risk
Arbitrage narrows exposure but does not eliminate it. The engine takes the gap between venues rather than betting on direction, which is why a session can earn on a falling market — but a gap can close between the two legs of a trade, and that trade closes at a loss.
Roughly one trade in four closes negative in normal conditions. Sessions are sized so that the positive ones outweigh them, not so that losses never happen.
In quiet markets, gaps are smaller and rarer. A session in those conditions can finish well below its target through no fault of the engine.
Liquidity and execution risk
Execution depends on venues we do not control. An exchange can halt trading, throttle an API, delay a settlement or fail outright. Where that happens mid-session, the session may close early or below target.
Blockchain networks congest. Deposits and withdrawals can take longer than usual at exactly the moments when the market is busiest.
Platform risk
Software has defects. We test, we monitor, and we publish every trade to your session log, but no platform is free of error. A defect that affects balances is corrected against our records, which may mean an adjustment in either direction.
Access to your account depends on your own security: your password, your email account, and your two-factor device. Losing control of any of them puts the account at risk in ways we cannot reverse once a withdrawal has settled on-chain.
Limits and liquidity of your own funds
Withdrawals are available at any time outside a running session, but a session in progress holds them until it closes, because the balance is still moving while trades settle.
Your account's earning potential is finite: a multiple of deposits, after which sessions stop. That is a product limit, not a market event, and it does not affect your ability to withdraw what you already hold.
No guarantees
No figure on this site is a promise. Nobody at Gemini Trade can tell you what your account will earn, and anyone claiming otherwise — including someone claiming to represent us — is not speaking for the platform.
